Off to Mardi Gras...

March 2, 1992

Well, here it is Monday already. A lot of stuff happened over the weekend. It was nutty. I'm glad I'm documenting this stuff or I'd forget it quick.

On Thursday, I went to Opinionated's and we made spaghetti. Actually, I made it. Then Lady came over and she ate, too, and we watched The Simpson's and Beverly Hills 90210. Bart wanted to be a cop on this episode so he began by being a hall monitor at his school. It was pretty funny. Lady was funny too. I had a really good time with them, kinda catharsis-like. It was good.

Then I went back to the house, packed up and we headed to New Orleans at about 10:30p.m. It was a very long drive, but it was fun. We got there Friday morning and proceeded to drink whiskey and beer. We saw a few tits, met some girls, browsed at some shops. I passed out in the Superdome parking lot after I got separated form the group. Finally, Jeff found me, but we lost Gibbs and Ogle. We wound up sleeping at a rest area halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans on Highway 10.

The next day, we bought some beer and went to Pat O'Brian's in the French Quarter. We saw Ogle who had slept in a parking lot at the Hyatt after getting really trashed and sick. Still, no Gibbs who was supposed to met us at 10 p.m. at the Superdome. The dumbass never showed.

We got drunk, watched some parades, saw more tits, met even more girls, took a nap, went back to Bourbon street, traded some beads for a glance at a Pennsylvania girls tits and a cigarette, showed my dick a few times, got more beads, kissed a girl, saw more tits, tripped some drunk, peed on a church, saw Ogle get hit in the face by a cop, changed a girls tire, passed out at the Lambda Chi house at New Orleans, woke up, finally found Gibbs after some bullshit, drove home.

We didn't shower for 4 days, we ate tuna and turkey and we smelled awful. I mean it was the worst smell possibly imaginable! It was a gross combo of feet, hair, B.O., farts, burps, puke and coffee-skunk... praise the Lord. So, in short, that was my trip.

I skipped Ad/Copy Layout this morning because I felt terrible. I feel fine now, but I wish I had some new clothes. I need to go shopping for some shorts and such. For now I have to see if I can't purchase a Chia Pet. I have no car so I'll have to bum a ride to the mall.

Excellent!

Ready, set, go...

February 27, 1992

Well, now it's Thursday already and I don't have class on Friday. I skipped my Organizational Behavior class this morning because I had too much to do today, and it's only 12:30pm. I woke up, showered and went to Old Main to have the woman in charge of Co-Op Education for the Arts & Crafts College sign my internship application. She really confused me, but I think I got things worked out OK.

Then I went to Crossbreeds to get the Ren & Stimpy tumblers for the Alpha Sigma Alpha party next Friday ordered.
We're on probation, but what the hell! Then I went to see Sega in charge of the whole intern interview thing. My interview is on March 31st at 11:45am. I'm nervous! I hope I get it.

I'm at the DPS lab typing now. I just completed two forms of body copy for milk -- one serious, one not. I'm too demented to write serious copy.

I leave for New Orleans tonight at 9:30pm. It should be fun. I have Graphics class at 1:30pm so I need to go study some. The hardest part of the day is over so I can now just sit back and kind of coast. I am supposed to go over to Opinionated's tonight for dinner after my Ad/Copy Layout lab. We still have no cook and I haven't eaten yet today so I am sure I will be hungry by time lab is over.

Whew!
I'm goin' to Mardi Gras... hotdiggitydamn! See ya Monday!

So it begins...

February 26, 1992

It's noon and I just got back from the university library. I typed my internship application and it's almost finished. It's due on March 1st so I have some time. We still have no cook at the fraternity house. This makes over two weeks now! Remember, seven days makes a hole weak. I learned that one when I went to Fort Worth a couple of weekends ago!

Why am I typing this and why did I wait until now to begin this? I really couldn't say! I needed to start it back in high school, but my level of zeal wasn't very high, and I think now am doing it out of boredom. I have Advanced Public Relations in about 20 minutes, so I am killing a little time. It's a chilly day outside, but nice.

I'm very displeased with the fraternity house right now. We are on probation due to grades and morale is way down. I'm a senior now, and I'm very apathetic to the goings on of the house. I was confronted very awkwardly yesterday evening by our resident faggot and alumni advisor, Stee-Wee. He is concerned about my alcohol intake. He rarely drinks and perhaps he doesn't realize the novelty of being 21 (finally). Who knows? Who cares? He suggested that I voluntarily enroll myself in a Charter Vista-like program and get help. I do not feel like I am an alcoholic! But, denial is the first phase. What a stupid no-win oxymoranical mind-frame. Anyway, I will cut-down for myself, and no one else.

I am very broke due to the cook situation. I'm going to Mardi Gras Thursday night with Jeff, my old roommate, Scotty Play, Ogle and Gibbs. I can't afford it, but I'm going for the sake of experience. My car is also dead so Jeff is driving. I have/had a Toyota Corolla Diesel Sedan. The thing really sucked and it rattled like a motherfucker. I'm glad to see it go, but now I have no transportation.

It's a simple equation, as far as my present status goes. No cook=no money+no car=no dates. I have a few good leads right now, and friends are really important.

Well, class is about to begin.

On Monday we all met at Hoffbrau Steakhouse and "did lunch." It was fun because I had never been there before and I enjoyed the company. I had to drive Pastey's VW Beetle to the place due to my lack o' car!
